Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the free trial?

Fourteen days, on every paid plan. No credit card to start, so you can run it against your real orders before you decide anything.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. The money moves through Stripe Connect, not through us. You'll link your Stripe account during onboarding and it takes about two minutes.

Can I use multiple products together?

Yes. FeeLayer, PayLayer, and FinanceLayer each stand on their own, and none of them mind the others being switched on. Pick the plan that covers what you need.

Is surcharging legal in my state?

Depends where you are and where you're shipping. Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine prohibit card surcharges, and FeeLayer takes the fee off orders headed there without you doing anything. Most other states allow it but have their own disclosure rules. Read our surcharge laws guide, then talk to your own counsel before you switch it on.

How do ACH payments work for my customers?

You create the payment and we email your customer a link that carries your store name. They click it, connect their bank through Stripe's secure checkout, and the transfer starts. The money settles in 3–5 business days.

What happens if a customer misses an installment?

FinanceLayer tracks every due date, so a missed one turns up as a past-due plan the next time you look. From there you follow up with the customer yourself, or cancel the plan. Automatic retries and payment reminders are coming soon.

Can I customize the emails sent to customers?

They go out under your business name and your support contact, both pulled from your account settings. Your customer sees your store in their inbox, not ours.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Billing section inside the app, any time. Swap modules or cancel outright. Billing stops the moment you cancel or uninstall, and Shopify prorates module changes for you.
